Region 6: Western Visayas

Western Visayas contains the significant islands of Panay and Guimaras, including a few remote islands. The district is circumscribed toward the north by the Sibuyan Sea, upper east by the Visayan Sea, east by the Guimaras Strait, south by the Iloilo Strait and the Panay Gulf, and west by the Sulu Sea. 

In 2013, Western Visayas' GDP posted 4.09 percent development and contributed 4.00 percent to the countrys GDP. Horticulture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing division diminished by 3.28 percent. The part represented 23.52 percent of the territorial economy. In 2013, palay generation at 2,090,790 metric tons was lessened by 8.79 percent from the 2012 level. Region at 616,273 hectares shrunk by 7.86 percent. Corn creation at 345,527 metric tons and zone at 123,946 hectares ascended by 4.46 and 1.12 percent, separately.
